Getting started
Create and edit a report
Open Reports, choose Create report, and enter the title, customer, job location, service date, and work description. Notes are optional. Save Draft stores the report locally. Open a saved report from Reports and choose Edit to update it.
Use a template
Choose an editable template for suggested titles and prompts, or start with a blank report. Selecting a template fills suggestions; it does not save the report.
Set up Business Profile
Optionally add a business name, phone, email, address, and logo. These details are stored on the current device and can appear in exported PDF branding.
Photos and PDFs
Add photos
On iPhone or Android, choose Before or After and select images with the platform photo picker. Each category supports up to eight photos. Each photo must be 5 MB or smaller, and all photos in one report must total 20 MB or less. Supported formats are JPEG, PNG, GIF, and WebP. Captions are optional. Selected photos may retain embedded metadata.
Preview, export, and share
Open a saved report, choose PDF Preview, then Export / Share. The destination you choose may keep its own copy. Activity may record the share or export flow; it is not a receipt showing that a recipient received the file. On iPhone, photo selection and PDF sharing may leave temporary files until the system removes them. On Android, PDF sharing writes a temporary file to the app's cache and grants the selected destination access.
Delete a report
Open the report, choose Delete, and confirm the report title. The report and attached photos are removed from the current local report store. Related Activity entries remain and identify the report as deleted. This does not securely erase storage or remove existing device backups, shared PDFs, or backup files.
Backups and restore
ProofReport has no online account or app-operated cloud sync. In Settings > Privacy & Data, choose Export backup to save a local JSON file, or Restore backup to import one. It can include reports, photos and captions, Activity, and Business Profile data. The file is not encrypted by ProofReport, so keep it private.
A backup is limited to 64 MB total and 46 MB of photo and logo data. Restore validates the archive before import, skips existing report IDs instead of replacing reports, deduplicates imported Activity events, and fills only blank Business Profile values. A storage error can interrupt an import after some records have been added; retrying the same file skips or deduplicates them. Exported PDFs cannot be restored as reports.
iPhone app data may be included in device or iCloud backups, depending on settings. On Android, system-managed Auto Backup may include app files and preferences when backup is enabled; availability and what is retained depend on Android, device, account, and backup settings. The JSON backup you choose to export is separate from these platform-managed backups.
